The Oklahoma Sooners’ 2025 recruiting class already runs deep. They’ve got the sixth-ranked class with ten commitments already. While the class already includes a good amount of prospects, the list of commits will continue to grow as time rolls on. One player that the Sooners could land is three-star running back Girard Pringle Jr.
Late last night, Pringle released a list of his top eight programs. The list, of course, included Oklahoma, among other schools. The other seven programs were Georgia, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Miami, Boston College and Louisville.
Pringle plays high school football at Armwood High School in Seffner, FL. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back is a top-100 player in Florida. Nationally, Pringle is the No. 656-ranked player and is the No. 52-ranked running back.
While Pringle’s list of his top eight programs provides some competition for Oklahoma, he holds offers from solid programs that didn’t even make the cut. Those offers come from programs like Missouri, Colorado, Auburn, Ole Miss, Washington and many more.
In 2022, Pringle rushed for 622 yards on 107 carries, scoring six touchdowns, according to 247Sports. Additionally, Pringle caught 15 passes for 176 yards and an extra touchdown. On top of his football skills, Pringle is an overall athlete, also competing in track at a high level.
Pringle would be a good addition to Oklahoma’s 2025 class, which includes two four-stars and no running backs. Jaden Nickens and Elijah Thomas — two local Oklahoma talents — lead the class which ranks No. 6 in the nation at the moment.
Currently, six of the Sooners’ 2025 commits are from Oklahoma, with three being from Texas and one being from Missouri. Pringle would be the first commit from Florida.
As the Sooners head into the SEC, they arguably become a more attractive destination for recruits. They were already a blue blood program in a Power Five conference, but they now move into the best conference in all of college football.
