The Oklahoma Sooners’ 2025 recruiting class is looking special. According to On3, their class — consisting of 15 commits — ranks No. 11 in the nation. Eight four-star and seven three-star prospects have pledged to Oklahoma thus far, and that list could soon grow.
On3 recently released a list of five 2025 prospects currently “trending” to land with the Sooners class. Each of the five players would be a huge addition to Brent Venables’ recruiting class.
Here are the five recruits trending in the Sooners’ favor, according to On3
Ty Haywood (Denton, TX): The five-star offensive tackle is given an 88.9 percent chance of committing to the Sooners, with Texas A&M, Florida State and TCU each holding a small percentage of a chance to land the 6-foot-5, 280-pound talent. This would be a huge win for Bill Bedenbaugh and Oklahoma, should they secure his services. The No. 2 prospect in Texas would give the team more security on the offensive line.
CJ Nickson (Weatherford, OK): The local talent is a four-star recruit, which On3 gives Oklahoma a 99.1 percent chance of landing. He prefers an opportunity to be a dual-sport athlete as an incredible basketball player, too. The benefit of potentially landing Nickson is his versatility. He plays tight end and defensive line in high school, and his 6-foot-5, 216-pound frame has the potential to be developed in a big way.
Max Granville (Sugar Land, TX): Ranked the No. 31 prospect in Texas, the edge rusher was given an 83.7 percent chance to land with the Sooners, with Texas A&M and Baylor being the next two programs in line for his commitment. At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Granville is coveted at his position.
Omarion Robinson (Little Rock, AR): A 6-foot, 170-pound safety from Arkansas, Robinson is a four-star talent. He’s got an 81.6 percent chance to commit to Oklahoma, with Georgia and Oregon both being in the mix for his recruitment. With the program heading into the SEC, it’s important to get solid talents at each layer of the defense to maintain that identity moving forward.
Darius Afalava (Lehi, UT): Winning in the trenches is crucial at every layer of football, but the SEC might have the most competition in the trenches among all of college football. The Sooners have an 80.6 percent chance of securing the 6-foot-5, 280-pound interior offensive lineman. LSU, UCLA and Washington are three other programs in the mix for his talents.
Of course, these are just predictions based on intel, and these things chan change very, very quickly. Not a lot of stock should be put in until a commitment is actually made, but it’s good to see Oklahoma trending the right way for the recruits.
