The past few days have been nothing short of incredible for Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners. They’re finding every bit of success on the recruiting trail. Multiple four-star recruits across different recruiting classes have made their pledge to the Sooners after visiting Norman.

Since Lincoln Riley left the program in 2021, the Sooners have taken no step backward in the recruiting department. In fact, Venables’ recruiting class has a higher blue chip rate than Riley’s final season with the program.

Currently, the Sooners hoist the No. 5 class in the 2025 cycle, as they added to it on Tuesday. With a third addition to the 2026 class, Oklahoma ranks No. 3 for the future recruiting cycle.

Sooners land four-star in-state prospect CJ Nickson

Whether it be the gridiron or hardwood, CJ Nickson is an elite athlete and will be able to make an impact in the crimson and cream. The four-star talent out of Weatherford, OK, made his pledge to the Sooners on Tuesday, marking a third commitment to Oklahoma in as many days.

The dual-sport athlete is the No. 74 overall prospect in the 2025 class, as the No. 1-ranked player in Oklahoma, according to 247Sports. Nickson held some elite offers around the nation, but his decision ultimately came down to two programs — Oklahoma and their Bedlam rival Oklahoma State, as he eventually opted for the Sooners.

Oklahoma secures 2026 four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal

While the Sooners’ 18 commitments in the 2025 class pose a strong set of newcomers as the cycle projects to be another dominant one for the program, they’re continuing to get ahead of things on the trail. On Monday, they landed four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal.

The California native and No. 5 quarterback in the 2026 class (No. 63 overall player) is 6-foot-3, 215 pounds. With Kevin Sperry, another four-star quarterback, already pledged to the Sooners, this is the first quarterback commitment since Seth Littrell took over as Oklahoma’s offensive coordinator.

Additional recent Sooners commits

The recent Sooners commits aren’t just O’Neal and Nickson, though both huge wins on the trail for Oklahoma. Venables and his staff also received a commitment from 2025 four-star wide receiver Emmanuel Choice on Sunday, adding to what is shaping up to be a stacked 2025 recruiting class.

Oklahoma is taking every bit of momentum on the recruiting trail to build another elite class, building for a strong future in the SEC.
