The Oklahoma Sooners could soon have another splash of a commitment to their 2025 recruiting class. Currently ranked No. 11 in the nation with their 2025 recruiting class across college football (according to On3), the Sooners are building another elite class as they transition into the SEC for the 2024 college football season.

If Brent Venables and the Sooners want to continually be competitive heading into a gauntlet of a league in college football, continually bringing in elite recruiting classes is key. They currently have eight four-star and seven three-star commits to their class.

Quincy Porter is the next recruit to involve Oklahoma among their top schools as his list is now down to six programs.

Four-star wide receiver releases top six programs

Again, Porter involved Oklahoma in his top six programs remaining in his recruitment. The four-star wide receiver is as from Oradell, NJ, ranking as the top prospect from the state and the No. 5 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class, according to On3.

The No. 32 player in the nation listed Oklahoma, Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, Texas A&M and Ohio State as those still in the running to land his services. This would be a huge win on the trail for the Sooners. Adding a player ranking such highly in the nation would bring more fireworks to an already solid recruiting class.

Sooners building solid, deep wide receiver room

As of right now, Oklahoma is going to be playing with an incredibly deep wide receiver room — which features Andrel Anthony, Jalil Farooq, Deion Burks, Nic Anderson and more. They’re playing with first-year starting quarterback Jackson Arnold, who was a true freshman a season ago.

While an improved defense is going to be huge for the Sooners heading into the SEC, there is no reason their offense should fall off. Porter would have the opportunity to compete in the SEC, getting balls thrown to him from Arnold — who projects to be a college football star.
