The Oklahoma Sooners are officially members of the SEC, and they were brought up plenty during SEC media days among other programs.

Conference realignment finally taking place, seeing the Texas Longhorns join the Sooners in the move from the Big 12 to the SEC, Oklahoma might just be under the microscope next season. They’re projected to finish mid-table by most pundits and making the College Football Playoffs would be over succeeding by the national media’s standards.

The blue blood program has respect from its peers, though. Other members of the SEC understand what is coming to the conference with Oklahoma joining.

Oklahoma is facing a gauntlet of a schedule during the 2024 college football season. Ole Miss is among six different programs the Sooners will face that could find themselves in the 12-team College Football Playoffs next season.

Dart is a star quarterback for Ole Miss as he’ll help them be a contender next season. He also happens to be complimentary of Arnold and the Sooners.

“Jackson’s awesome,” Dart said at SEC media days. “He has a really bright future, super talented kid, I look forward to playing against him this year and I look forward to him having a really successful year for himself as well.”

The two quarterbacks are supremely talented and will pose for an incredible matchup when the two face off next season, and Dart is aware of that. Ole Miss and Oklahoma are two incredible teams and will have real conference implications.

“It’s a game that I feel like our fan base is really looking forward to. It’s going to be a super electric environment,” Dart said. “I’m really looking forward to that game and playing against an elite program.”

It’ll be tough for Oklahoma to hit the road and take on Ole Miss on their home field, but it will be incredible experience for the program as they look to establish themselves in the SEC.
