The Oklahoma Sooners are set up for what could be a huge week in Big 12 basketball play. Porter Moser and his squad host the Texas Longhorns on Tuesday and Texas Tech on Saturday. As the No. 11 team in the nation, two big wins over Big 12 basketball programs would be huge for their ranking, and on would assume it would catapult them back into the top ten in the AP poll.

First up, the Sooners have the Longhorns in the Lloyd Noble Center at 6 p.m. as the two teams could both greatly benefit from a win. Being at home, the Sooners are favorites in this one, but in the Big 12, any team can win on any given night.

Game Info:

Game time: 6:00 p.m. CT

Where: Lloyd Noble Center, Norman, OK

Records: OU (15-3, 3-2), Texas (13-5, 2-3)

Spread: OU -4.5

TV Channel: ESPN

The two teams will be playing on national television in a game where the Sooners will likely bring an incredible environment in Norman. Playing on ESPN, the Sooners will be able to prove themselves on the big stage against a Texas team that has been in the news cycle quite a bit as of late.

Rodney Terry recently sounded off on UCF after they threw horns down signals after a comeback win. This infuriated Terry and the Longhorns, and one would assume the environment OU fans will create on Tuesday because of it will be quite entertaining.

The two teams are roughly two points apart when it comes to points per game and points allowed per game, with the Sooners holding the advantage in both margins over the Longhorns.

Both teams are coming off big wins, and neither team brings more momentum into this game than the other. Still, playing in Norman with a team that’s been making a statement all season, the Sooners’ defense and energy should lead them to a big victory behind a great crowd.
